Before you start
- Download NinjaSaves Desktop for Windows x64 or Linux x64 (Debian / Ubuntu) and sign in with an active subscription.
- Check that your game and the edits you want are listed under supported games.
- Keep your computer and PS5 on the same home network. Select a user on your PS5 and leave it on the home screen.
- Keep a separate backup of important progress where possible.
1. Import from PS5
Open Import from PS5. The app looks for consoles automatically. Select your PS5 and follow the connection wizard.
Follow only the instruction currently shown in the app. Some connection steps ask you to open Settings → System → System Software → Data Transfer. During the console-information step, the app may explain that a Data Transfer error is expected and ask you to return to the PS5 home screen. This does not mean errors during a later save transfer should be ignored.
Only when the app prompts you, press the physical PS5 power button for less than a second, then release it. Wait while the console enters Data Transfer mode; the app detects it and moves to the next step. Do not hold the button or press it again.
Select the saves you want to import and wait for confirmation that each one is ready in My saves.
2. Review your save
Open a save in My saves to see its available edits and expiry. Review the values before preparing it. You can also transfer the imported original without edits when that option is available.
Saves are temporary, normally available for around 24 hours. If a save expires, import it again from your PS5.
3. Transfer to PS5
Choose Transfer to PS5 to open Export to PS5 with your chosen save. Review it and prepare it, then follow the connection and transfer instructions. Preparing a save does not itself start the console transfer.
Preparing finalizes this import. If you want to make different changes later, import the save again.
4. Check the result
Wait for the transfer to finish and your PS5 to return to its home screen. Open the game to check your progress. Wait for the home screen before starting another transfer.
Need help?
Use Diagnose in the signed-in app if your PS5 cannot be found. For a failed transfer, follow the recovery message in the app before retrying. Visit the Help Center or contact support with your app version and the message shown.
