Cookies and local storage

NinjaSaves, based in Norway, uses browser storage for sign-in, security and preferences. Cookies can be sent with requests; local storage remains in your browser. Our Privacy Policy explains related information handling. Contact us about privacy questions.

Necessary storage

Authentication cookies keep you signed in. Website sessions normally last up to 30 days and can renew during use. Signing out ends the login session. Sign-in and verification flows can use additional temporary security state. Cloudflare and payment services can use storage necessary to protect connections or complete a requested payment. Blocking necessary storage can prevent sign-in or checkout.

Preferences

  • Language — ns_language: remembers the language you select for up to 365 days. Without a saved choice, the website detects a supported browser language and otherwise falls back to English. Change it using the header or footer selector.
  • Cookie choices — ns_consent: remembers your cookie choice for up to 365 days. Reopen Cookie settings in the footer at any time.
  • Currency — ns.billing.currency: local storage remembers a selected currency until replaced or cleared. Without a saved selection, approximate country information can suggest a supported currency; GPS access is not required.

Preferences apply to your browser. Clearing storage can reset preferences and sign you out without deleting your account.

Optional analytics and marketing attribution

If you choose Accept all, our server sets ns_vid, a first-party cookie with a random identifier that page scripts cannot read. It lasts up to 400 days and renews when you return. It lets us recognise this browser on later visits to measure which websites, campaigns and referral links bring visitors, sign-ups and purchases.

For visits in that browser we record campaign tags in the link (utm parameters), advertising click identifiers if present (for example gclid or fbclid), a referral code, the referring website without its query string, the landing page, the time, approximate country, browser language and device type (phone, tablet or computer). We do not store your IP address or full browser user-agent for this, and no advertising or third-party analytics scripts are loaded.

Without that choice, no identifier is stored. How you arrived is kept only for the open tab in session storage (ns.attribution, removed when the tab closes), and the visit is counted without an identifier. If you create an account or buy during that visit, those details are attached to the account or order.

When you sign up or buy, the first and most recent campaign or website you came from is copied to your account and order records, which we keep as business records. Choosing Essential only in Cookie settings deletes the ns_vid cookie and its visit history; details already attached to an account or order remain. Raw visit history is deleted after about 25 months.

For provider information, see Cloudflare and Stripe. The desktop app’s local language and protected login settings are separate from website cookies.
